Print Operator/Graphics Assistant

We are looking for a Print Operator/Graphics Assistant

In this role, you’ll join our internal graphics team, working hand-in-hand with company departments and outside printers. You’ll partner closely with Project Managers, the Graphics Manager, and Production staff to keep projects on track, and you’ll review and prep client files so they’re print-ready and customer-approved.

About Bredemeier/the role:

At Bredemeier, we specialize in manufacturing custom sampling solutions to present textiles, wall coverings, leathers, vinyls, or other materials.

Specific to the role, you will be assisting in creating and printing different print pieces applied to the samples.


 

Customers will send information in a spreadsheet like this:

 

Then, we take that info and data merge it into existing templates to create the printed proofs:

 

Once proofs are approved, you will have to set up print forms with the corresponding paper type, paper size and print size which vary by customer and job. You will then manage the Xerox printer making sure everything stays aligned, and making sure all quantities print with no printer jams or other issues:

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Comfortable operating our large in-house digital printer to help handle a share of our print work
  • Great communicator, verbal and written, who can work well with internal teams, printers, and occasionally customers
  • Strong skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Photoshop
  • Experience with data merging
  • Comfortable in Excel
  • An eye for detail, able to build artwork from customer templates while following multiple brand guidelines
  • Skilled at preflighting and proofreading artwork, including customer files and final approved pieces, checking print, die lines, and tooling
  • Careful about getting layout sizing and quantities right for print orders
  • Organized about file management, keeping artwork archives clean and version control tight

  • Can take charge of in-house digital printing from start to finish
  • Thrive juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Are detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
  • Bring at least 3 years of experience in print production or manufacturing graphics creation
